Independence Day poems. 4th of July poems for kids.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, USA
Happy Birthday, USA!
You work so hard;
it's time to play.
Everyone knows what to do.
They light up backyard barbeques.
They serve up hot dogs on a bun,
play horse shoes, ring toss.
Lots of fun.
There's concerts, parties
Big parades
Watermelon
lemonade
and best of all, make no mistake,
is red-white-blue vanilla cake.
Fireworks end a perfect day.
Happy Birthday, USA!

4th of July Poem #2

Fireworks for the 4th of July. Independence Day poems. 4th of July poems for kids.

NIGHTTIME SHOW
Red
Yellow
Blue
White
Sparkles lighting up the night.
Canons
Bursting
hurt my ears.
Dogs are whining
Doggy fears.
Squiggles fly up in the sky.
Exploding colors drop on by.
It seems the burst will touch the ground.
I reach up high.
They can't be found.
The air is filled with acrid smoke.
We watch it from my Grandpa's boat.
The colors shimmer on the lake.
We get to stay up very late.
We played all day, and here we go. . .
Such a perfect nighttime show.

4th of July Poem #3

Independence Day poems. 4th of July poems for kids. Dog with red, white and blue balloons.

THE FOURTH OF JULY
My favorite holiday, I'll tell you why,
is the one in the summer, the 4th of July.
You put on your clothes, the most comfortable kin,
the type is you spill on your mother won't mind.
At lunchtime we grill and eat lots of fun stuff
like burgers and melons, till we've had enough.
And talk about easy, it meets all my needs.
You eat it outside . You can spit out the seeds.
At night we light sparklers to wave through the air.
We walk to the park. See the concert is there.
There's singing and drumming and strumming guitars.
The kids and the grownups dance under the stars.
The air smells like bug spray and smoke and perfume.
The dogs wear bandanas and red-white balloons.
It's our country's birthday, and here's the best part.
The concert is ending. The fireworks start.
A bang and a boom and they light up the sky
with colors to show it's the 4th of July.
(I said it's my favorite and now you know why!)
